-Conducted research on Mass Timber during my internship at Ankrom Moisan Architect in summer 2019.
-Collaborated with Hacker Architect and KPFF Consulting Engineers on a project titled "Testing the Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment of Mass Timber System: European vs. North American Mass Timber vs. Steel" while attending school.
-Received an AIA scholarship to investigate mass timber lamination methods and their impact on health and energy.
-Conducted a specific study on the impact of chemical adhesives on Mass Timber material and its effect on indoor air quality, and subsequently, human health.

Humans spend about 87% of their time indoors, so one of the critical factors that affect human and environmental health is the Indoor air quality (IAQ). Mass Timber is a sustainable material that is one of the hot building materials in the market. The adhesive material that is used for mass timber lamentation can affect the IAQ and human health. In this study, because of the sensitivity of the topic, I decided to reach out directly to mass timber manufacturers and industry experts and ask them about their adhesive choices and their reasons for their choices. I present the issues the toxins can cause and conclude with re-stating the importance of the topic of this study.
